Kit: Slipstravanganza Shawl Kit

Slipstravaganza was the latest Mystery Knitalong organised by Stephen West. This is a recurring annual event, scheduled in autumn, starting in the first week of October.

The knitalong is always for a multi-coloured large shawl, knitted using standard 4-ply yarn on (in most cases) 3.75mm needles. When I manage to join in, I knit my Stephen West shawls in my Soliloquy 3-ply and I drop down my needles-size to 3.25mm. This results in a slightly smaller project, perfectly in proportion but a bit more manageable in size.

On this occasion the specified needle size was 3.50mm. I decided to use my Yak Blend II 4-ply yarn for my main colour, Soliloquy 3-ply for my contrast colours and not to decrease my needle size. This has worked so well that I decided to put some kits together for those who would like to knit their own Slipstravaganza (or knit a second one in my yarns!)😁

The pattern gives 2 options in terms of final size: a single border or a double border. The sample in the picture has a double border.

Depending on which size you wish to knit, you either just order 1 kit (for the smaller size) or you order 1 kit and add 1 extra skein of the main colour (which gives you enough yarn for the larger version).

Each kit contains:

- 3 x 50gms skein of Yak Blend II
- 1 x 50gms skein of each of the contrast colours (3 in total)

The pictures show the 3 contrast colours flanked by the main colour to give you an impression of how the colours play together. Please note that the pictures show one more skein of the main colour than your kit contains.
