Faerly is our most popular shawl pattern. It is lacy yet simple to knit and the stitches used don't compete with the yarn, so it works very well with variegated, speckled or gradient yarns.

This kit contains a variant to the original Faerly pattern, with instructions to make this much larger version as well as two complementary gradient sets of our Layercake Linen yarn with the middle colour (black, or in the case of the Violet set, blue) taken out (175gr in total). This yarn is spun by he same lovely people that weave our linen fabrics.

NEW COLOUR:
now also available in Pebble to Black

The same weight as our Soliloquy Sock Lace, Layercake Linen runs 600 m per 100 grams and is perfect for knitting a garment or accessory to go with your Layercake Smock, Tabard, Apron, etc.

A note about the darkest colours of Layercake Linen: I have had two reports since I started selling this linen yarn of the black rubbing off on fingers while knitting. Unlike our linen fabrics, the linen yarn is not pre-washed, so the darkest colours MAY release some excess dye stuff on your fingers. I have done a lot of knitting with the black linen and have not experienced it yet, so this obviously varies from one person to the next. You do not have to worry about the dye bleeding into any of the other colours if you wet your project.

Faerly XL takes approx. 1,050m of yarn and also looks fabulous in Soliloquy Sock Lace (kits coming soon). In the meantime, the Faerly XL pattern is also for sale separately (as a PDF download) HERE.

The pictures show the Faerly XL knitted up in the Neutrals and Dark Teal Layercake Linen gradients (which match our Black Gingham and Pinstripe Linen fabrics as well as our about to be introduced Dark Teal Cross-weave Linen Dresses).

The Gradient Sets are also sold as separate bundles of 4 x 25 gr hanks of 150 m each (600 m in total) HERE if you would like to choose your own combination of a double gradient.
