LAYERCAKE IN STOCK VS. MADE TO ORDER

How do I know if my colour/size is in stock?
1. Select your colour/size(/length).
2. If it is in stock, it will show directly above the "ADD TO BAG" button.
3. If no stock is shown above the "ADD TO BAG" button, your Layercake will be made when we receive your order. Lead time varies depending on the times of year but usually runs 2-4 weeks. If you have a specific deadline, please let us know and we will try to meet it!)

Why isn't shipment free?
Well, strictly speaking, shipment is never free. If you do not pay for it directly during check out, the cost of it will be absorbed in the price of the products. This is why a lot of bigger companies offer free shipment with larger orders. Bigger companies also enjoy discounts on their deliveries, because they can negotiate special rates with the courier services they work with.
The Slow Wardrobe is TINY and we work hard to keep our prices as low as we can considering our limited purchasing power. Charging you for delivery makes direct costs visible, although the costs for bigger shipments in reality still exceed what you are charged during check out.

Shipping from 2 locations
With fivemoons Yarns now also selling via The Slow Wardrobe website, please be aware that all fivemoons orders are shipped (using Royal Mail) from Sharon's Studio in Devon, while all Tall Yarns and Layercake orders are shipped from the Surrey Studio. This means that, if you place a combined order, you will receive 2 parcels!

WHY DO YOU NEED MY PHONE NUMBER?
With Brexit on the horizon, there will a growing number of shipments that cannot take place unless complete address details, email and phone number of the addressee are given at the time of shipment. Please be aware that any information you give at the time of your order will only be used to process that order, never for ANY other purpose. Sign up to the Newsletter is a separate process and does NOT take place automatically.

UK:
Orders up to £7.00: £2.35
Orders between £7.00 and £40.00: £4.45
   (shipped using Royal Mail Second Class)
Orders over £40.00: £5.95
   (shipped using Royal Mail Tracked 24)

EU:
Orders up to £40.00: £12.50
   (shipped using Royal Mail's International Tracked service)
Orders over £40.00: £17.00
   (shipped mostly using courier services only - insured, tracked and signed for service. Please note that we ship DAP - Delivery At Place, which means that any customs/duty or import taxes incurred upon arrival in your country are your responsibility. We have no control over what charges may be incurred by the courier or local authorities upon arrival at the destination country.)

Rest of world:
Orders up to £40.00: £21.00
Orders over £40.00: £27.00
   (shipped using Royal Mail's International tracked service - and signed for where available)

Returns:

RETURNS FROM WITHIN THE UK:
In accordance with the UK Distance Selling Regulations returns are accepted if you notify us of your intention to return the goods within 14 days (UK) of delivery to the delivery address to which you originally instructed us to make delivery.
Following that, you:
1. dispatch the goods by secure signed for delivery method within 7 days of notifying us that you will make a return (to the address at the bottom of this page) and
2. advise us of the carrier's package registration number (tracking number) and
3. ensure that the goods are in their original condition, without contamination by contact with or the aroma of any of the following: food, drink, cosmetic perfume or make-up, tobacco or tobacco smoke or any other contaminant.
We cannot take responsibility for the returned goods until they have safely arrived back with us.
Please note that any purchase of discounted products is final - no returns will be accepted.

RETURNS FROM COUNTRIES OUTSIDE OF THE UK:
Please follow the steps listed above as well as the following:
4. A customs declaration must be completed and accompany all returns from outside of the European Economic Community. The customs declaration must tick the box 'OTHER' and the description for other must state 'RETURNED GOODS ORIGINATING IN THE UK'. Goods returned without this declaration may attract duty and sales tax from the UK authorities which will be declared to the buyer and will be deducted from any refund. No returns can be accepted of discounted products.
