I first met Felix (Felicity) in the Summer of 2014, when she came to our Studio to interview us about Layercake. She had bought her first Layercake at Woolfest and she was keen to find out how it is that so many Layercake wearers seem so happy!
Andrea made a wool Tabard for Felix after that first meeting, out of a beloved fabric Felix had inherited. Sinze then, we also made Tabards for her bridesmaids and recently, Felix walked away with her first Layercake Playsuit. I think she'll never look back (I live in my Playsuits!!!).
But, I digress...what about this book?
This is the exciting 2018 sequel to the Sourcebook that was published in 2014 (which you can read more about HERE). The Playbook offers inspiring opportunities for applying patterns found in daily life to celebratory hand knits. It teaches you how to draft your own knitted correspondence; to produce stranded colourwork bunting with your friends; to translate the textures of your own town into a cowl; to experiment with scale and proportion when working with motifs; and to adapt and create a stunningshawl that will cover your shoulders with rounds of hand-picked flowers. Featuring the voices and ideas of many friends from the community of knitters who already enjoy working with the Knitsonik system, this collectiion is full of fun, friendship, and designs that invite you to play.
The projects are all elaborately illustrated with photographs, drawings and notes to enable you to easily customise each pattern to reflect your unique sense of style, and the things and places that matter to you, resulting in intensely personal and cherishable knits.
Every copy of the book contains a unique digital download code that enables you to download a complementary electronic copy in PDF format through Ravelry.com. The eBook contains blank chart templates and b/w versions of all the charts. You will find the code on the inside of the book.
