Cumulus, a very appropriate name for this lofty, fluffy yarn, has the same running length as Soliloquy and therefore is a perfect companion for projects asking for both a smooth and fluffy yarn of the same weight. It's been very popular in a kit with Soliloquy for Westknits 2018 Mystery shawl Kal called Texture Time.
Kits for this project can be found HERE.
Cumulus is a worthy alternative for projects asking for Rowan Kidsilk Haze.
The main differences are:
Length: Cumulus runs 150 metres (164 yds) per 25 gr ball vs. Kidsilk Haze at 210 metres per 25 grams
Composition: 74% Alpaca, 26% Silk
Look and feel: Kidsilk Haze has a whispy halo (with ends of fibre sticking out) while the Cumulus halo is more fluffy (with fibre sticking out but the ends tucked in).
This yarn is easier to wear against the skin than most mohair yarns.
Cumulus is truly light as air and lends itself very well to colour-work.
Available as: 25 gr ball
Recommended needle size: 3.0 - 5.0 mm, depending on the desired fabric.
